REFLECTIONS FROM DEAN MCNEILL

Greetings Everyone,

As I look back over the year 2024 and reflect, it is hard to believe how much change has taken place in our government, in the nation, in society, in the Church and indeed, around the world.

While change is inevitable, it should lead us to a better place, a place of enhancement and growth, a place of innovation and advancement. I often feel that our nation is going backward.

Nevertheless and in Spite of, Eastern Bible Institute has made progress and embraced change. Since COVID-19, we have taught classes by way of Zoom which has allowed us to reach more people, in and out of the State of NJ and to embrace technology on a larger scale than when we were only in the classroom.

The building that we use is being repaired and updated, so we look forward to being back in the building and offering a hybrid opportunity to students by early Summer. We have withstood the test of time and are now in the 47th year of

operation. Surely, Bishop Willie L. Smith heard from God when instructed to start a Bible School and build a Church.

We are honored to continue the legacy by working with Pastor Jerry Smith and Bishop Simith’s children and grandchildren to take his vision to another dimension. The scripture that keeps me rooted and grounded is: Trust in the Lord will all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

We are excited about 2025; we face the new year with optimism and hope.

I am so glad the Lord led me to EBI. I was looking for a Bible College to enhance my knowledge of God’s Word. EBI exceeded my expectation. The professors and instructors are subject matter experts who taught the classes with knowledge, experience, passion, and great reverence of God’s Word.

You will learn through didactic, demonstration, observation, and working with others. You will learn how rightly divide the Word of God. You will learn how to apply the Word of God to your life. You will learn how to share your faith with others.

MY EBI EXPERIENCE

The purpose of education has been defined in many ways. Education is to develop the intellect, serve social needs, contribute to the economy or create an effective workforce. Preparing students for jobs and careers or to promote a particular social or political system.

That was my experience for the first 50 years of my life to the end that a worldly education feeds and fuels those things that are temporal.

My Christian Education at Eastern Bible Institute has taken me into a deeper study of The Creator, myself as His creation and the Bible which is a roadmap to eternal life.

My experience at EBI has shifted my paradigm from the temporary to eternity. In Jesus'name, Amen.

A Message From EBI School Professor Rev. Dr. Brenda Stamper

I am Rev. Dr. Brenda Stamper and I am a proud Eastern Bible Institute (E.B.I.) graduate and college professor. I started my journey at E.B.I. in 1999 where I eventually earned my Bachelor Degree of Theology, followed by a Masters Degree in Education of Theology, and then finally my Doctorate Degree of Divinity in Religious Education. Because of God, and my education I was able to get something for self and give back out to others through sowing back into my alma mater, my beloved E.B.I. I’ve been a professor at E.B.I. for 12 wonderful years where I’ve been able to stimulate and motivate students to learn the Word of God and also learn about how to use what they learn to help others.

This Fall Semester I will be teaching Evangelism and New Testament Survey. I especially am looking forward to teaching students about how to preach and teach the gospel especially in these last days . The Word of God has not changed however; I believe it still can be applied to any situation in this world.

I strongly encourage everyone to start their education at E.B.I. because we are strongly committed to helping everyone be equipped and ready to be able to defend the Word of God and bring everyone to the Body of Christ through Biblical Principle and practice. I stand on the verse, II Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Also I stand by this verse as well, Philippians 4:13, “ I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Shalom!

Welcome To Your Journey

Dr. Deborah Adams here! I am a graduate of the 92 EBI Doctoral class. It is an honor and pleasure to sow back into the institution that changed my life. My education at EBI propelled me into excellence in the ministry of Christian Education and Secular Education. EBI's biblical approach prepares students to understand the contemporary issues of their generation and the appropriate biblical response.

Psalm 100:5

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting and his truth endureth to all generations.

This fall semester I will teach two classes: Family Ministry for the Doctoral Program and Understanding World Religions for the Bachelor Program. In Family Ministry, we will explore topics such as the 21st century definition of "the family", how do we reconcile it with scripture and when was the first biblical glimpse of relationality? In World Religions, we will explore : what are the major world religions, their origins, and compare / contrast them with the Word of God. As believers it is imperative that we know about other belief systems. This knowledge will help us use our mighty weapons of God to pull down strongholds, cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. 2 Cor. 10:4,5 Then we can effectively compel others to be saved according to Luke 14:23.

And the Lord said unto the servant, go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

I urge you to start your Christian Education journey at EBI. You will fall in love with the Word of God, receive an excellent education and be fully prepared to walk through the doors that God has already planned to open for you!

Thoughts From Dean Odessa McNeill

Christian Education is so important and should be high on the list for Christian Leaders and the Laity in this age of paradigm shift.

We are in the throes of the 21st century and seemingly all of the values that have withstood the test of time are being challenged, i.e., truth, integrity, honesty, justice, honor and love to name a few .

The Bible is the believers road map, it is our compass and guide for life. It reinforces the values that I mentioned; the Word has never changed regarding these values since it was written hundreds of years ago. The Word is not obsolete, not out of style, nor is it out of sync.

If we read the Bible carefully, we will find that these times were prophesied long ago. Apostle Paul told Timothy that in the last day;

“perilous times would come, men would be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers , incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-4

Eastern Bible Institute has stood on the Word of God for the past (44) years and we have no plans to change our position or our course now. We uphold the values and truth of the Word of God without hesitation or reservation.
